Retro band slots

Just seen that Dodgy have reformed with the original line up - I guess they'd be ideal as a Latitude retro act But who else to fill the Adam Ant/OMD/James/Squeeze etc slots I see a lot of people are guessing Big Country will play - who else? BAD, PWEI, The Wonderstuff? Any thoughts

no offence to you all but all those bands are ****ING **** these would be good, if we're gonna do that whole thing: - BLACK TAMBOURINE - Chris + Cosey - Dead Can Dance [actually are this band good? i've never listened to them] - R Stevie Moore! - Jeff Mangum - Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Jonathan Richman - The Pop Group

Never heard of Black Tambourine Jonathan Richman would be great, but most of those you mention don't actually fit in with the general retro slots, you're just going for obscure (other than Richman, and to a far lesser extent DCD)

Big Country are quite Latitude friendly, surely. Not that I like them. PWEI are (i.e. were) of course incredible but I'm not sure that their current lineup would be up to much. I would like Melv to book Fleetwood Mac performing Tusk in its entirety.

R Stevie Moore is definitely not "Latitude Language" neither is Black Tambourine. the forum is a very small percentage of latitude attendees, and only a percentage of the forum like that music. me included (well, i don't know Black Tambourine).

I have a feeling we might be seeing the never-that-much-cop-live New Order headlining this year. Aside from them: Thomas Dolby ABC Wire

Well, with The Cure headlining and Kate Bush doing the sunday lunch slot I'm not sure we need too many other retro slots. ;-) talk talk, Propaganda and Cocteau Twins would be good, though might be slightly tricky to arrange!
I am short, young and wildly inaccurate.

Isn't Claudia from Propaganda married to one of OMD? (unless I dreamt that or something). Hubby maybe gave her glowing reports from last year...

probably the only person on here hoping for another Bow Wow Wow reformation like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fekqp-gMUq0 still, reckon Dexy's Midnight Runners will be a safe bet... with The 3 Johns as rank outsiders

Would love to make time for a bit of Bow Wow Wow & several of the others for another look - just, please, not the Enid. Never got on with their miserable music or their pretentious followers. No offence, actually, no go on, I REALLY didn't like the Enid ':-)
