I'm going to my first football game in a few hours - Lowestoft Town vs Leiston - but I don't own any kind of football clothing. What is it acceptable for me to wear without looking like a plank? Cheers

My research tells me Lowestoft play in blue so perhaps a blue item of clothing would be good.

PS when is it you go to London for a few days? Will you be missing Monday's grand unveiling of the times/real deal clashfinder? Gutting if so.

Sunday - Tuesday Will get back on Tuesday evening, probably to find Dirty Projectors, Jamie Lidell and Emo Philips all on at the same time. Could get Moochoo to come meet me with a copy of the clashfinder, but I'm not rude and needy like that and there probably won't be one as gooma has posted about once 4 months back this year and everyone is expecting him to do it. Oh well.

Grouchland, only the participants in sport are actually obliged to wear the relevant kit. Having considered your short lived football blog at the start of last season (09-10, for the benefit of Moz) I don't imagine that you've been asked to turn out for Lowestoft Town. In fact, if you don't wear colours, aside from perhaps a pin badge of your favoured team ( http://www.montrealimpact.com/index.aspx?language=EN ?) people will think you are an Ultra or Top Boy and you can spend a pleasant afternoon either letting off flares and unveiling big banners deriding signifiers of the opposition team or supporters, or alternatively having it on your toes and holding firm to a right naughty mob from the opposing fans and then writing a book all about it. Thanks.

yeah, basically wear whatever you'd wear to go to the park, or shopping, or any other day time activity. Oh, and be sure to shout "Come on the trawlerboys"* every time 'toft get the ball. *If that's the right nickname. Can't find the journal to check.
I don't have the drugs to sort it out.

Everyone knows the best non-league teams are Forest Green Rovers and leading fan owned, Patrick Marber supported outfit, Lewes FC.

nevermindme is correct as ever, but Grouchland, please note, do not tell anyone at the football that you've got tights on under your jeans.

I'll be relying on Grouchie for some top notch scouting tips today as Lowestoft have just been promoted into the same division as my team, the mighty Billericay Town FC!

I've only ever been to one football match, which was Hertha Berlin vs Sporting Lisbon. I wore converse and jeans. And lots of coats. Cos it was about -15

I wore my trusty Fever Ray tee and a pair of shorts. The match wasn't what I was expecting. The game seemed to be split up into 4 quarters - after they stopped play and both teams went off we went to queue for a burger and fanta but they came on almost straight away and it turned out they had only been playing for 20 minutes, this left us pretty confused but no one else in the ground found it unusual. The 'banter' from the crowd was the funniest part. They were all either extremely old men or middle aged women shouting cliched banter like "Are you blind ref?!", "That player's as useful as a chocolate teapot!" and of course "Come on you blues!". No one even bothered using the name trawlerboys which disappointed me, but one man did have a go at someone else on the other side of the ground for swearing - "there's kids here" which made every single person on site go quiet. One of the Leiston players fell over and got kicked in the head about 10 minutes into the match and played the rest of the game with a bandage round it.

NO :( I remember before all the previous iTunes festivals tickets were incredibly easy to come by. Gutted it's not the same this year.
