~ Psycho Poetica ~ ~ Daljit Nagra – Poetry It's A Knockout ~ Over the past four years, the Poetry Arena at Latitude has grown into one of Europe’s leading poetry events in its own right, boasting the hottest slam poets, spoken word, storytelling, comedy sketches, rappers and much, much more. The award winning poet Daljit Nagra will bring a uniquely interactive show to Latitude. In a one-hour extravaganza, Daljit and his glamorous assistant, Laura Limerick, will invite the audience to participate in a series of fun poetry games. It’s a Poetry Knockout! will include new events such as Poetry Mastermind, Poetry Bingo, Poetry Maths Challenge and Poetry Blankety Blank. The audience can participate by being on stage or from the comfort of where they’re seated. The show promises to be a fun-packed fast-paced show for people of all ages and of all interests! To mark the 50th anniversary of Hitchcock’s iconic film ‘Psycho’, poet Simon Barraclough has created a fantastic poetic homage, called Psycho Poetica. Twelve acclaimed poets have carved up the film between them to create a new poetic version. Read in sequence, with no intros and no titles, the poems create a faithful distortion of Psycho: chilling and moving by turns. All poets involved come to Latitude to treat audiences to the poetic movie marathon. Sit back and enjoy: Simon Barraclough, Annie Freud, Matthew Welton, Emily Berry, Isobel Dixon, Dzifa Benson, Chris McCabe, Luke Heeley, Heather Phillipson, Joe Dunthorne, Jane Draycott and Richard Price. The performance also features string quartet Bleeding Heart Narrative playing their homage to Bernard Herrmann, 'Cop Shy'. The Poetry Arena boasts an incredible line-up including Wendy Cope, John Cooper Clarke, Blake Morrison, Luke Wright, Jacob Polley, Spoken Word All Stars, WordTheatre presents David Soul and Amber Tamblyn, Eddie Argos, Laura Dockrill and The Word Orchestra.
