"Moronic promoter error" and "sadly not the entire festival" suggests Mr Haines isn't too happy with Festival Republic. Now what was it I was saying about their IQ's the other day....

I wonder if there are many other artists that aren't playing that they haven't bothered telling anyone about. Still, helps cut down the clashes.

Hey, it's not like Luke Haines to be a hateful miserable person.

I guess the only suitable replacement will be a reading from Nick Cave's new book.... shame :(

Have you read the link from his Myspace that says he's cancelled?

FFS - First David Peace, and now this. The two authors that I wanted to see and hopefully meet/get books signed by. Add that to the Stewart Lee cancellation, and the only non-musical act I am really looking forward to now is Pappy's Fun Club. Or have they cancelled without us being told as well?!

Bidding is at £44 with 1hr30m remaining. I was tempted to bid when it was around a tenner, just for the car park space. I wonder if Latitude security are poised to pounce on anyone who puts on the ol' Haines impersonation act.

I can raise the stalking stakes by speculating that that is his wife the excellent (former?) music journalist Sian Pattenden's ebay account, I'm reckoning.

Why you trying to outshine me in the fanboy stakes Nico? My competitive streak means that we are both going to end up looking like losers. For the record, I would agree that that's Mr Haines' trouble and strife selling the tickets. She has written some very funny children's books and has a blog about her art what she sells. It pains me to admit it, but this painting should be arriving at Thomas Towers any day now: I'm well cool, me.
