maddix85 Joanna Newsom - Ys 2.99 (Heart Foundation) That's a great price. Always seems to be one of those albums that is really expensive in record shops - like £15, or something.

Thanks for digging up this thread Thomas, very handy (I know it wasn't buried very deep). I almost never buy CDs these days. On Tuesday I bought 2. Yes 2, count 'em. I noticed a sale shelf as I took a short cut through a HMV/Waterstones type shop and after sorting through for a while I came up with: Bauhaus 'Go Away White' - from 2008, their only studio album since splitting up in 1983 (oh, I remember that day well, I can even picture exactly where I was sat as I read that sad news in Record Mirror), I hadn't got around to buying this CD yet so it was quite handy to see it in my local shop this week for £4. Not played it yet. Paul Brody's Sadawi 'Kraków - Kielce - Warszawa' - described on the label as 'Klezmer Jazz'. It's been on repeat play for 2 days pretty much non stop so far. Trumpet led, jazzy, a bit Jewish, cost less than £2, my bargain of the year.

Not sure I've read Breakfast of Champions before. Might get it sometime. My favourite Vonnegut is The Siren's Titan though no one else agrees so I think that might be because it was the first I read.

I just bought: Dedication by Zomby (mostly out of guilt that I've listened to the whole album through about 4 times and haven't paid anything for it yet). Murder Ballads by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (which I bought previously but left the disk in my work computer when I sent it to be decommissioned).
It's quite interesting, you know, the number of biscuits that are named after revolutionaries. You've got your Garibaldi, of course, you've got your Bourbons, then of course you've got your Peek Frean's Trotsky Assortment.

Graham Coxon "A+E" £7.99 but a reasonable price for such a good album. Dry the River "Shallow Bed" - sadly unremarkable folk, lacks the passion and anger that was on their live EP. Battles "Gloss Drop" - didn't give it a listen last year, thought i would pick it up now cheap (£3.99 on eBay) in preparation for latitude, its interesting although hopefully it will grow on me more over time.

The Sirens of Titan is a terrific thing - everyone else is wrong :) (If you liked that, I recommend that some quick but really enjoyable reads for you would be 'The Forever War' by Joe Halderman, 'Flowers for Algernon' by Daniel Keyes and any collection of short stories by Philip K Dick you can find.) ▲ Not sure I've read Breakfast of Champions before. Might get it sometime. My favourite Vonnegut is The Siren's Titan though no one else agrees so I think that might be because it was the first I read.
