ORIGINAL: grouchland see now i reckon, One Night Only, or U2 it has to be. but im thinkingg this is NEVER gonna happen. ORIGINAL: calhudson ORIGINAL: grouchland the locust, the melvins, the jesus lizard, rolo tomassi, **** like that cor imagine the melvins headlining next year?? lets start asking now! and stuff like rolo tomassi isnt THAT unlikely, i mean huw stephens might pick them up and shove em on the ole lake stage. i mean they got the mars volta, why not any of the artists above? idk, The Mars Volta always seemed to be more of a crossover act, they seem pretty in with the prog scene and aren't particularly heavy. also seem to fit the world-music influence that lat. loves so much. just can't see them putting some full on noise in the lineup - shellac, the melvins, Zu, anything in that vein.
this is true, im guessing they probably wouldnt have ever booked At The Drive In, just the volta on the whole 'something differnet' basis.
getting lynched at the festival mate, better stay out of my way. Hang you in in the sunrise tent mate, gonna yank ur dick off. LOVE FROM CAL AND WILL SOURBERRIEZ

Sigh, Six By Seven would've been ace - great shame about the implosions. But Chris Olley could do his solo thang....

Only Robert Wyatt for me! He's one of the most awe-inspiring artists to darken music's door, with his latest album ("Comicopera") every bit as amazing as every other masterpiece in his forty-year-long career, but the silly so and so hasn't played live for almost a decade - claiming that he's "nervous". Oh my, he'd be fantastic for Sunday's high-noon slot. Please, latitude, bring out of his self-imposed stage exile! This would be the coup to end all coups! Highly unlikely though.

ORIGINAL: hoppo MR. wyatt does seem to be appearing at ornette coleman's meltdown sometime soon according to the ad You're quite right, and Robert Wyatt has made a couple of forays onto the stage in the past few years - generally playing percussion or cornet as backing for someone else. Ornette Coleman is an old friend of his, and apparently managed to coerce him into performing in his own right. Let's hope this heralds a return to touring. I was basing my original post on comments he made in his Purcell Room interview of a couple of years ago - suggesting he had no plans to tour again due to a kind of stage fright. It's worth a look/listen, incidentally: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9XRWkIKTYU He is amazing though. Aside from "Ship Building" and "I'm a Believer", I never heard anything by him until The Wire proclaimed his "Cuckooland" record as the best of 2003. I ran out and bought that, then his other records, and have never looked back. Goodness me, I'm starting to believe that an appearance from him is possible; I shouldn't start hoping too much. It really is extremely unlikely. I can't help myself; I'm a believer!

Fountains of Wayne. An early-ish slot on the Obelisk with the sun out would be marvellous, but they hardly ever venture to the UK, so not very likely.

Some cool choices there hoppo. I'm a big fan of Beefheart, Syd B, Zappa, Pere Ubu and Wire. I've been getting into This Heat, Godspeed, Miles D and Can a fair bit lately too.
