Yeah, and the Wombles for the Sunrise. Churning it over in my hamster wheel, I doubt Latitude will be able to completely surprise us for a second year. As typed previously, of the headliners and guest, only Nick Cave was anticipated (and not by many). No, I'm sure our multitudinous predictions must cover most (double) basses. Surely?

We need someone equal to or better than Thom Yorke. Bowie is pretty much his only peer in stature, influence and acclaim.

If it was up to me they'd go at a complete tangent to the 'alt singer playing acoustic set' vibe and have Steve Reich or Philip Glass or Ennio Moriccone do their stuff. But what do I know? I scored 0 in last year's game!

Wow, I was just thinking Bowie then next page along, someone beaten me to it! I'd be happy with anything anywhere near as good as Thom Yorke. But it'd be nice to see any of these: Laura Marling, Maccabees acoustic set or The XX.

I still think Animal Collective would be perfect for this slot.

I scored 0 in last year's game! pretty good idea there, G...but if the tradition is to be kept going (and whow is to sat that it is ?) then it would seem that a solo slot by some one or other, rather than a group, should be the order of the day...but i cannot think of anyone who would fit the bill right now...what is latitude going to do ? can they up the antee after last year, or down size ? dunno dunno...but grouchlands idea of a complete tangent is the best idea i hear on here

Just seen on NME.Com that boring Gary Lightbody from boring Snow Patrol is planning on releasing some no doubt boring solo matierial. I reckon that puts him in with a shout of doing this slot at Latitude, I hope not though as I think it would be BORING.

ORIGINAL: maddix85 I still think Animal Collective would be perfect for this slot. Nah, they're whole show is three guys with samplers playing lengthy extended jams of ambient songs over a light show. Without the lights, you're left with three guys bent over various electronic bits and pieces bobbing their heads.

Having thought about this for a second or two; someone like neil young doing a solo spot might just take the bisciut...not that i would go out of my way to see it...then again i just might, if only to get one over one on wife who aint comming... anyway; failing that, i am sure the recently re-animated corpse of john lennon would go down a treat....or was that a bad cheese dream i had last night ?

Kate Bush - what a great suggestion. I'd be stunned if it happened but I'll keep fingers and toes crossed. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sunday slot is filled by one of the headlining acts doing some kind of 'unplugged' type set. Whether that would be a good or bad thing rather depends on the headliner involved.
