^^ You're saturda Obelisk line up made me very happy! Altho, National would play main stage like they did last year. But picking Warlocks and Herman Dune gives you extra brownie points

i kind of hope i'm wrong here, but i've got a feeling that the headliners are going to be much more 'mainstream' next year, perhaps as mainstream as franz were a few years back. i'm thining this because of the way ticket sales went this year and the main way that the festival can live up to that is to bring in bigger bands to gather and retain the public's interest in the festival. latitude will also be (if t isn't already) a festival that the big bands want to play at

If the event sells out with the current level headliners they have no reason to bring in big names such as the Fratellis etc.

I think Jesus and Mary Chain could be a good shout, I also think that Editors could be in with a chance of a headline spot (if their star continues rising)
Flaming lips would suit the festival but are they a big enough name to headline now?

I still think that it's a UK festival The Cure could be persuaded to headline at some point.....

I don't agree that it'll become more mainstream, maybe, say, bloc party.......but I do think it might well attract bigger "names".........Neil Young, Leonard Cohen....... possibly even Dylan?

I think what they'll aim for is to enhance the standing of acts further down the bill.....rather than stumping up for huge headliners.

I do think the following will be high on their hitlist for 2009:

                      Bright Eyes/conor oberst
                      Belle and Sebastian
                      My Morning Jacket
                      The Hold Steady
                      Polyphonic Spree
                      Eels
                      The National
                      Cold War Kids
                      mgmt
                      buffalo tom
                      liam frost
                      tiny dancers
                      laura marling
                      the shins
                      iliketrains

its actually pretty hard to come up with that many great acts who aren't on this years bill!!!!

I am short, young and wildly inaccurate.

that would be the latitude headliners out of pocket......

What do you mean? By the way, that's my dream, not what I think will happen.

How does it suck? The headliners will attract a lot of people... especially Weezer. I don't even like them that much, because I think every album they've made other than Blue and Pinkerton has been pretty poor. However, they would be so much fun live which is why I picked them.

I like to see Belle & Sebastian, The Raconteurs and The Kooks headlining.

Would like to see more sub-pop, Bella Union and Saddle Creek acts too
