I can't wait until Grouchland goes to university. Partly because I'm sure he will have a great time and that, but mainly so that he stops moaning about not wanting to go to gigs because he's ran out of bus fare or the tram stops running at 9.20 on Tuesday or all his mates want to go to a Young Famer's ball or something.

You must be joking grouchland, I am so low on money going to Tesco is just upsetting. I was out petitioning (lol) again yesterday and me and a friend decided to get food, I checked my balance, announced that I couldn't have lunch that day, and the man behind me laughed. Horrid. Give it time maddix, I've given lots of them out, if all else fails I'll have to get a job as one of the people who stand outside the scummy clubs on Guildhall Walk and pester people to go inside.

Obviously you will Grouchland. That's pretty much the whole point of having universities.

This is relevant to my interests.

Pretty annoyed I missed !!!. phht shoulda come to Didsbury Beer Festival to hang out with me afterwards. All my so-called friends thought I was acting like a cock, so any sympathetic company would have been appreciated (in my defence, they are all wrong).

HOPPO talking about seeing the fall 4 times in a year, made me think back to my teens it must have been the mid 70s and just about every time that we went to a festival or gig the supporting band was WIDOWMAKER over that summer think it was the hot summ er of 76 I must have seen them 7 or 8 times, what ever happend to them .

All my so-called friends thought I was acting like a cock, so any sympathetic company would have been appreciated (in my defence, they are all wrong). Now Thomas, it seems that you are quite often mentioning real-life stramashes with your associates. I am surprised at this because you seem very personable on the internet and are obviously very shrewd and urbane (ie you like mostly the stuff as me). Does this reflect a passionate and vibrant personality or are you really a bit of a nutcase? (Please note I am only joking).

Well the thing is, Nico Rijnders - good use of 'stramashes' btw - that I am actually a very nice and personable person. I have got a heart of gold. I am witty, and being in my company is almost always a delight. I think the problem is that I get bored quite easily and then I get a bit shouty. Especially 'after a few'. Much as it would clearly be entertaining to examine this issue further, I think I will have to stop myself. And to all my In Real Life bros who read Latitude forums, I would like to say "I love you".

GROUCHLAND WILL BE PLEASED TO HEAR I AM BACK FROM YET ANOTHER GIG AFTER ONLY GOING TO WATCH THE FIRST SUPPORT. I did manage to score a pair of tickets off eBay cheap though so hopefully that will soften the blow. I had always intended on going to the gig though as Jason Lytle in Norwich is well worthy of my readies, even if it is just a 30min support set. He was well worth it too, rattling through a load of Grandaddy classics to a tiny but appreciative UEA crowd. John Grant and Midlake were the next two acts who I didn't stick around for, neither of whom I hate but Grant doesn't appeal to me too much and I've seen Midlake live before. I prefer being home and watching the second half of Blackpool West Brom tbh.

I saw Jason Lytle in Manchester back when his album was coming out. It was well good. I like him. I would definitely go to watch him in a support slot (which he might be doing in Manchester I spose but there we go).

I wish Maddix had made his post during the summer when all the John Grant and Midlake fanatics were around. I like the John Grant album by the way and used to like Midlake a fair bit, but it still would have been worth it to see the frothing at the mouth and the sacrilegiousosity.
