I will probably be embracing my inner lad and V Festivaling it this summer too. The chance to see The Stone Roses and probably at least one Gallagher brother is too good to miss.

That No Direction Home looks quite good. I'll probably end up going to V again as I'm only 10 miles away and don't have to camp (Thank f**k) I went to Field Day last year as it had a good line-up and has another good line up this year http://www.fielddayfestivals.com/line-up/ but I was a bit disappointed with the site, everything seemed so cramped and crowded, only one bar had beer on draught (and was naturally perma-rammed) and there was some annoying slippage in the stage times. Might give it another go though this year as it's quite easy for me to get to on the train and hopefully things will have improved.

I don't really get the Camp Bestival hate. I'd be more than happy to see any of Hot Chip, Jimmy Cliff, Chic, Little Dragon, TEED, Liz Green, Frankie Rose, Prince Fatty, This Is The Kit, Mosca, 2:54 and P Money at Latitude

was thinking of going to No Direction Home but it looks like it may be run by scientologists: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/167652-strange-letter/ also Off Festival in Poland looks okay, may try + head over to that if i can afford it. most uk festivals are pretty **** tbh. DO NOT go to Field Day btw. the line up may be good but it won't be when you can't see 90% of the bands because they are playing in a tent with no soundsystem/ no stage/ the 30 person marquee is trying to fit 100s in/ some **** in dungarees is trying to sell you ketamine etc etc. the evening of field day 2011 was truly one of the ****test experiences of my life.

Camp Bestival lineup looks alright to me, though Kool n the gang, Chic, and Earth wind and fire might be overkill for me. If they could get Hot Chip then Latitude could've done but probably hasn't. Anyway, I refuse to put money into Rob Da Bank's pockets, and I also got very angry when I saw the words "Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer" as it brought back memories of his existence. People who describe themselves as 'anti-scientology actvists' really need to get a life. While we're on the topic, anyone who has ever worn a V for Vendetta 'anon' mask should jump off the nearest tall building as soon as is practicable.

A nutter is trying to smear them.......apparently scientologists are part-funding the festival. They're not recruiting, they're not advertising, they're not affecting bookings - other than apparently fixing it for one band to open a minor stage in both 2010 and 2011........ They're also happy for the majority of bands and comedians to be athiest in the extreme................ In fact, now that I think about it - if they have been throwing their money away subsidising a ******* cool festival for the past 5 years without anybody even spotting it, good luck to them. They can buy me a car too if they like.
I am short, young and wildly inaccurate.

▲ ..... also Off Festival in Poland looks okay, may try + head over to that if i can afford it...... Do it. You might even bump into me, I'm thinking about going too now there's been a slight alteration to that weekend's festival schedule (and especially now Mr Pop and the Stooges are playing). Hey, you could finally buy me that beer you promised me.

I gave up on possibly going to Field day after searching the website for when it actually is..couldn't find a date and decided I wasn't that fussed!

meal_deal testicles: http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/news/2012/02/08/sigur-ros-to-play-bestival-festival-in-september/# yeah, that depressed me beyond belief. i have been positive that i'd go almost anywhere to see them when they get out of the studio this year, but that is no can do. hopefully some decent gigs lined up aswell late summer (and not ally pally). edit: double fukkkk, only just read this bit: "it’ll be their only show in the uk in 2012"

Has everybody seen The Flaming Lips are playing Parklife Weekender in Manchester. Reckon that'll make them more likely for Latitude?

Sigur Ros were unlikely anyway, c'mon. Flaming Lips HAVE to do it this year. this would be fine tbh: The Cure - Elbow - Flaming Lips (the first two seem to appear often in rumours. not a massive fan of either, but seems likely)
