    Sorry, Fatboy, meant to say nothing personal, despite extremely personal inference.....

    BBC4 was all spot on last night, and although Borgen requires far too much concentration & the eyebrows on Pussycat made me flinch a little the, er, black pop thing was easy listening at its best. Had to go to bed in case Oops Up Side Your Head came on & I broke some furniture....

      Not going to take offence Kerry1. Was a tongue in cheek request as have vague memories of seeing the Enid @ Reading Festival many, many moons ago, and had a brief wish to relive the drunken moment of running round pretending to be a plane to the Dambusters' theme. Sorry. I'm over it and the feeling has passed

        Hmm not sure Killing Joke would fit into Latitude (surely more likely to turn up at Download, unless we're talking Jaz conducting some of his classical stuff) but I'd be pleased to see them and Poppies and the Wonderstuff.

            The Primitives - probably very cheap and still fun.

              Well ‘retrospective’, carrying – as it does – a sense of having missed the band the first time around when they were good, is not a term I can applaud.

              Nevertheless, despite sitting on my best typing hand for several days, I cannot resist sticking my bulbous conk into Latitude’s business:

              Robert Wyatt (no, it’s never going to happen and Nico will be jabbing pins into a Moochoo doll by now– but Hell can be the only destination for John Dunn if he doesn’t at least try);

              Sonic Youth (still rocking as hard as they ever did);

              Public Enemy Or Wu Tang (no way we’d bag both)

              Aphex Twin

              At the Drive-In

              Jesus Lizard (Demonic rock is a must from some quarter)

              Steve Ignorant playing Crass (No one believes that his fat lady has sung);

              Scott Walker

              Swans

              Please note, 'retrospective' has loosely been defined as 'old' in the above.

                You'll be disappointed to hear Sonic Youth are on indefinite hiatus. Kim and Thurston broke up a few months back. So we can be pretty sure they won't be playing.

                    Actually Thomas dolby has been gigging  and has a fun new album out that would go down well with the Latitude crowd.
                    He also lives just down the road on the Suffolk coast.
                    ( mmmm ,  i think i have just been guilty of damning with faint praise)

                        You'll be disappointed to hear Sonic Youth are on indefinite hiatus. Kim and Thurston broke up a few months back. So we can be pretty sure they won't be playing.

                        I was in a bar/cafe the other night (mostly cause they serve the second best hot chocolate in town (the first best hot chocolate comes with a free shot of amaretto but the place closes early), anyway, they were playing old Sonic Youth albums that I haven't heard for ages and it all sounded great - I should listen to 'em sometime! - it a is shame that they appear to have possibly called it a day.

                        After Sonic Youth we got a prolonged dose of Depeche Mode, a band that are, for various cultural reasons I don't understand, impossibly popular in Poland.

                          I can understand the love of DM but that's just me sounds like a good cafe to head to when in Warsaw!

                          I'd quite like to see Thomas Dolby, the current album is pretty good and The Flat Earth was the first album I bought :-)

                              OK I hadn't heard of any of these (apart from Dead Can dance who are marvellous and I would love to see them but they may be better on the waterfront?) so I went and had a listen I think they may be an acquired taste that I have never acquired and am unlikely to so please NO!

                                    Lightening Seeds are touring. Not everyone's cup of tee but I think could do nice mid afternoon in the sun Obelisk slot (just as long as they don't do that awful footy song).

                                      Well OK they need a bigger stage but I just thought they would be stunning on the lake! Where would you put them?
                                      I think it's unlikely they'll turn up at Latitude but they are about to announce some dates so you never know there is always a possibility they fancy a bit of suffolk country side
