As the owner of a previously teenage girl body (now not suitable even for freecycle), I can only say that the cheesecloth & hippy tops may not have been cropped in the olden days, but they were fairly see through. Perhaps you were more innocent then?
As the mother of two teenage girls at this excellent event, one in Family, one in Yellow Camping, I think mine were covered enough on the Fri (compared to last year, opportunities to look slutty were limited to that day only), and still received admiring looks. They were there for the music & comedy, so perhaps not an average sample, and maybe the unspoken threat of paying for their own ticket next year if they misbehaved helped? Maybe they are just happy & secure enough not to need to pimp themselves like some of their friends. Maybe I'm a harridan who stalks their children at festivals to maintain control at all times.
Reading this back, it does look like I have a freezer with the body of a teenage girl in it. Apologies if you thought the thread was getting creepy.
Raffles, I'm sure your girls will enjoy their festivals with the experience of knowing they can have a really good time without the props of whore-tops (as an aunt recently put it), excessive alcohol & the like. Have faith, they'll surprise you.

A freezer with the body of a teenage girl in it!  Conjures up all sorts of spookey images!  Do the "whore tops" crack when you defrost them?
 

I think maybe we all need relatives that shame you to maintain some decorum over the years; perhaps it is a good thing I am turning into my mother (try telling my husband that - although if you saw Jason Byrne's set, he'd probably prefer his own mother).
Whore tops never checked. Assume Primark's finest would crumble -serve them right, too.
My just-15 year old thought Ian McCulloch was a complete berk for trying to look cool smoking 2 cigarettes, btw.

The funniest thing was those who were trying to drag pink flowery suitcases through the mud. A suitcase at a festival? Really? :)

 
That's my favourite footage from Glasto every year, there are always some girlies dragging a suitcase along! This years was improved by the copper helping her along with her case!
