Those saying that some people have medical conditions which mean they can't stand for long periods - surely the festival already caters for this with disabled viewing platforms? Obtain a gold wristband (has to be applied for a month in advance I think) and you and a friend will be allowed up there. Obviously only applies on Obelisk, Word and Comedy.

As far as I can tell, the best way of dealing with the chairs in tents would be more (sensible) stewarding. Perhaps designate areas where chairs will not be allowed - maybe near entrances and within the centre of Word defined as between the 4 huge tent poles and the stage? Put up signs to this effect, and perhaps use some sort of flooring to make it obvious which areas are to be kept clear. Hopefully people would keep out of these zones by themselves, but you'd need to appoint stewards whose job it is to politely move on people who block them during busy times. Which would cost the festival money.

I'd have thought the festival should be ensuring there are routes kept clear in to and (more importantly) out of each tent anyway for fire safety reasons.

I don't think calling for regimental stewarding, more restrictions, new passes etc... is really in the festival spirit and would be to the detriment not the benefit of Latitude . Not the kind of festival I want to see . Ideas that take fresh angles and engender common sense and collective responsibility are harder to come up with than just saying 'more rules, better police!' but that's why festival organisation isn't easy and doesn't please everyone. Apart from the possible water contamination and the difficulties some disabled people or those with unrealistic expectations had with some poor weather , every other issue I've read since we came home has been trivial or a perfectly understandable every day annoyance.
