The proliferation of rude ignorant teens was worrying. There were large groups of them everywhere, most of them looked about 15, and they were clearly at their first festivals in many cases. At the risk of sounding like a massive intellectual snob, I think a large number of them didn't give a **** about the music at all. Although the same could be said for many many older family types, who clearly liked the idea of a festival, but didn't want to have to engage too much. I walked from Paolo Nutini to Foals during Paolo's set, and it was interesting to see the quite large number of people milling around in the middle of the site, clearly not watching any of the headliners on offer in any of the stages. And then half the festival appeared to leave halfway through sunday...

Didn't think the kids were that much of a problem this year really. All seemed to be having a good time but not really causing any bother.

Highs: Mr B (charming, dapper, sophisticated chap - big grin on my face) Cerebral Ballzy (full on, no prisoners - big grin on my face - mosh pit at Latitude???) CW Stoneking (how did a 70 year old bluesman possess this young Australian?) They Might Be Giants (witty, genuine, fun) Spymonkey, Frisky and Mannish, Late Night Gimp Fight (funny, funny, funny) Dylan Moran (hilariously surreal descriptions) Some Like it Hip Hop (much, much better than Flawless IMO) Electric Hotel (an experience I'm still mulling over...) - and Mark Thomas, Adam Ant, OMD, God's Jukebox, Ed Sheeran Lows: Rain Mud Idiots pushing during Paolo Nutini Bigger idiots lobbing beer cans into the crowd during PN The "customer protection" crew were always visible in the comedy and cabaret tents, (and were discreetly professional during Cerebral Ballzy), but I didn't see anyone policing the stupid elements in the PN crowd NO REAL ALE BAR AND THE HEKTORS RUNNING OUT BY 8PM SUNDAY!!! (I sulked during Electric Hotel with a coffee...)
Campaign for Real Ale at Latitude! Some decent beers - please?

For me it was straying away from headline music quite a lot of the time, yes I did see quite a lot of the larger names OMD, Adam and the ants Echo and the Bunnymen, Caribou etc but couldn't be arsed with most of the teenage crowd pullers so spent a lot of time wandering off to Cabaret, the Lake Stage (already purchased These are end times and Dutch Uncles albums this morning) and Poetry and literary even got a look in this time so fortunately did get to see Mr B (though after being trampled by teens attracted in by some bad rapping and great beat boxing). Isn't it the done thing to be a bit full of yourself and self absorbed as a teen though? I'm not sure I was a lot better back in the day!

The only person I saw causing any trouble was someone I know from my high school, who is a complete bellend. Saw him trying to start a fight with someone for pushing him in a (sort-of) mosh pit in Bombay Bicycle Club...I mean, seriously. If you're gonna be in the crowd, expect to get pushed around a bit... Apart from that, I didn't see anyone doing anything overly stupid...

Well did anyone see that idiot boy who climed the supports of the Word arena during the Vaccines???? What a ******* idiot! I wouldn't be suprised if we was banned from all FR festivals. I thought the fireworks at the end of Paolo's set were a nice touch, BUT it was quite lethal! I was looking up to look at them, and one of the bits of cardboard/ash fell into my eye! It really hurt, I eventually managed to get it out, but if that were still hot, I would have gone blind!

Yeah i didn't really see anyone being too much of a pain. There was some drunk as sh!t girl at kele (to be expected) who was just shouting that she loved everyone and was giving hugs and high fives to people who looked uncomfortable but i just told her to shh and it was fine afterwards. Strangely there was some aggravation towards me when i was walking into the Word arena tent to go into OMD (who were AMAZING btw) from some middle aged guy who was standing in the edge of the tent sheltering from the rain not giving a sh!t about any music it seemed and as i tried to edge past to get to the crowd, i said "excuse me, coming through" but he seemed to purposefully move IN my way; after i squeezed through, he then pushed the back of me and called me something that i didn't really register with but couldn't be bothered to argue with some loser like that. How odd. Oh well.

She told him to round another way, and that he had an attitude problem despite the fact that she had a massive empty space in front of her that no one was standing in...

Big problem this, with middle aged types (sorry for generalising here, but it needs to said) not giving a **** about music and seemingly just there for a pleasant outing with the kids. When it was raining there were people who who sheltered at the very outside of the word tent, affording them cover whilst allowing them to remain as far away from the music as possible, and then stopping people who actually wanted to get in from getting in even though there was loads of space. And most of the kids weren't doing much wrong, they just annoyed me by their very presence, treating the festival as some sort of Suffolk version of Newquay in the summer. I feel like a moody bastard saying all this, especially given that I am barely out of my teens myself but that was my impression

I never really noticed much of a problem last year, but this year the kids semt o have got more out of control! It makes me question whether I want to come next year or not.
