according to the official website..."In the campsites, there will be long drop toilet blocks in 6 locations spread throughout the campsite areas. They will all be segregated into male and female facilities" why segregate? surely, if you need to go,you need to go. regardless of a male/female icon on the door.are there special gender related items within these clanging doors?

If that system continues into the nightime when people are ****ed up, i'd be amazed. Just can't see it.

Yeah strange that they have changed to the polyjohn type ones for the arena. As long as they are regularly cleaned it'll be ok but I always thought long drops were better, meh.

eddytheviper i think the more pressing issue is, how are the plastic portaloos gonna hold up... they will be HIDEOUS :( agree. has the potential for poo horror. alternatives are..the long walk out of the arena, or a variation on randy quaid a la 'kingpin' in the urinals!!!

I have absolutely no idea why they have gone with portaloos. Awful. Long drops were better. Composting would be ideal.

In terms of cleanliness then yes best ever but toilets this year in the campsite were too spread out. The blocks needed to be smaller and more frequent I think.

Were there compost toilets anywhere this year? If not, why not?

Felt sorry for people in trailer tents and VW size campers in the campervan fields as there were no toilets at all (and no water but that's another issue!) and until the side fence was opened it was a horrendously long walk round to the toilets in green!! Not everyone in the campervan fields brings their own toilet/toilet tent. I believe there were none in the family campervan field either. Unfortunately this only encourages people to go where they shouldn't, if you know what I mean!

Couldn't fault the arena loos - clean and well stocked. Tried the female urinals but didn't work for me - least i didn't pee all over my clothes like so many of the girls did! We were in green campervan bit and the nearest loo was right by hollowtree - too far to walk. Luckily we had the option of a chemie loo but many didn't and that included those with small kids who weren't able to fit into the family campervan area.

I agree, the arena toilets were very well maintained and the queueing system was a great idea. I bought one of those thingies for the female urinals but wasn't brave enough to use it, lol!

annie the toilets this year were the best they have ever been. I agree, they were very clean , segregation really helped. There could have been more female toilets near the Word Arena, and many more in the camping sections. It would have helped to have the ones nearer the Theatre stages cleaned to the end of the festival and the camping ones to be 'stocked' with loo rolls on the Monday. But Much Much Better ! Thank You !

I was worried about the attendants though, they looked very unhappy.
