so, what's your rough schedule?
11 July 2011 19:45
( permalink)
thursday guillemots + old boy etc (don't know what time this is on so i'll fit a play or something in before or after) friday braids the trip q+a the phantom band owen jones most of deerhunter ryoji ikeda (depending on whether ^this is amazing or not caribou) bright eyes glasser the national tate britain etc saturday never mind the buzzcocks robin ince adam ant they might be giants alan hollinghurst british sea power tim key gruff rhys secret set dels probably a play or something hypnotic brass ensemble foals the winter's ball or god's jukebox (where has this gone) sunday the early edition the london contemporary orchestra the naked and famous os mutantes oh land caitlin rose johnny flynn either the hidden cameras or lykke li maybe crystal fighters saul williams wanna check out a few things other things out that haven't got times announced like electric hotel which i expect will get a few viewings. looks like a really good weekend, though i've had to be a bit harsh. worst things for me are the caribou/ikeda and lykke li/hidden cameras clashes as all 4 would be in my top 10 acts of the weekend.

I shall be rough when I wake up Friday morning and i shall probably stay that way until Tuesday!
I am short, young and wildly inaccurate.

Currently, although I can't be bothered to go through too much of the non-music stuff until someone puts up a full clashfinder: Thursday: Oldboy & the guillemots - really hoping this isn't too packed Friday: Braids Avi Buffalo Edwyn Collins maybe Phantom Band maybe Yann Tiersen Deerhunter Caribou Cloud Control Glasser -break for sustenance- The National Saturday: Never Mind The Buzzcocks -not sure- start of The Walkmen (hopefully they play The Rat first) Cerebral Ballzy British Sea Power Seasick Steve or Y Niwl The Cribs Echo and the Bunnymen Hypnotic Brass Ensemble Foals maybe Killing Bono after midnight Sunday: Dylan Moran Os Mutantes Everything Everything OMD for a bit, then Foster The People Lykke Li or Gold Panda (undecided) Eels James Blake

I havent studied comedy/arts yet - that's when the programme really comes in handy, but music-wise: FRI Braids Avi Buffalo Phantom Band Fool's Gold Deerhunter Caribou Glasser Jenny & Johnny The National SAT Villagers The Walkmen British Sea Power Y Niwl Gruff Rhys?! Is this a rumour purely because Y Niwl are playing beforehand and there's a gap in the schedule? Plausible I suppose DELS My Morning Jacket God's Jukebox SUN Anna Calvi When Saints Go Machine Marques Toliver The Heartbreaks Oh land Ghostpoet Mazes Fixers Lykke Li Suede James Blake

crystal fighters sound good. last.fm tell me it's a cross between electronic dance and basque music but to my ears it sounds more like a maximal version of mexican rudiozon. i hope that helps

I thought CF were ace when they were announced. Some great videos out there too. Not sure on schedule. I don't like getting too organised. But I'll undoubtedly start at Avi Buffalo and finish on Sunday night In The Woods. By the looks of these lists my paths will cross all of yours plenty of times.
