Doing my Latitude food and drink shop tomorrow 07 July 2011 23:54 (permalink)
Anyone want anything?

Gonna go lighter than ever on the food this year literally just take a tube of Pringles with me and buy everything else there. Bangers and mash in a cardboard box, jerk chicken, chilli and spicey wedges etc can't wait.

Drinks wise it'll be crates of lager and some bottles of red for my mate. Must buy some Immodium too so I can stay blocked up from Thurs til Monday when I get home for a megapoo.

Remind me if there's anything else I need to buy please.

You need plastic bottles of some sort to decant your mates wine into.

imodium is such a dark choice, the megapoo is always worse than you expect and usually ends in what i affectionately refer to as 'a faint poo'. Thats where you do so much poo that you go dizzy and black out on the bog. It's 'orrible.
getting lynched at the festival mate, better stay out of my way. Hang you in in the sunrise tent mate, gonna yank ur dick off.

Yeah I know about the plastic Rog, been to many a festival innit. Been saving bottles up for weeks.

Also think I will buy a roll mat. Normally I go with my girlfriend so we have a double airbed. As I'm going with a mate this year I think it would be a bit homoerotic to share the airbed with him so I think seperate roll mats are in order. Can't be bothered splashing out on a single airbed.

It's all about the Pringles, believe in me. I'm only taking that, maybe something for the morning and that's it food wise. Drink will consist of bottles of water and maybe some Lucozade, but I hate fizzy drinks.

Of course, I should've known you're a pro at this lark.  Good work with saving the plastic bottles.

Those self-inflating ones are very good if you get a half-decent-ish one.

I nearly forgot wetwipes. Such a vital purchase for festivals, gotta get those pits clean each morning.

No wonder you feel like crap for ages after the fest (no pun intended, of course).

I tried the 'not-using-the-toilets' thing at Phoenix Festival in 1996.  That and the fact it was over 90 degrees solidly for three days nearly killed me. Never again.

Given your comment about your potential homoerotic experience, i think it might have been wise to avoid the use of the words "splashing out on a single airbed"...........................................

Does anybody know any good supermarket deals which are on at the moment?
went to tesco yesterday and they were doing two crates of 12 for £16 which is not a great deal

And I just can't get with the "no-poo" plan.  Get up nice and early, big swig of bourbon for some dutch courage and find the cleanest cubicle out there.

                                as much as possible.....
just last weekend tesco had a better offer of 3 crates of 12 for £20.
I just thought that supermarkets tend to try and outdo each other with deals in order to get customers. I tend to shop at tesco but i thought that perhaps other forum members may have spotted a better offer somewhere else. I live pretty much equidistant from a tesco, sainsburys, morrisons and an asda (although the morrisons and asda are not huge stores) and it is all the same product so wherever has the best offer will get my hard earned money.

It's not food or drink, but you can't go wrong with a small bottle of anti-bac gel.

I tried the 'not-using-the-toilets' thing at Phoenix Festival in 1996.  That and the fact it was over 90 degrees solidly for three days nearly killed me. Never again.

I was at that Phoenix too, it wasn't half a hot one, and I made the rookie mistake of putting my tent in a place with absolutely no shade for miles around.

Didn't see the Foos, but did see Bjork, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, and the Flaming Lips (early on a lovely sunny Sunday lunch time I recall).  Also checked-out the Sex Pistols a bit, all I remember is standing towards the back watching all these old punks tearfully screaming "traitors!" and "sell-outs!" at the Pistols - they were against them reforming, but they'd bought a ticket, put all the old gear on and came along anyway... just to hurl abuse and cry, bless 'em.

Luckily I got my Festival kit :) Getting dangerously close to making me look like I'm promoting it, or work for the company! It's got both a little toothbrush and paste set and anti-bac gel. I would have forgotten otherwise, so it's all good!
