I totally agree with the grouchy one. And, in fact, I'm one of the people who is coming to the festival pretty much purely to see The Phantom Band, Clock Opera and a few of the other 'smaller' acts, who actually aren't small at all: they play sell-out venues and are constantly acclaimed in the music press and played on the radio. I know of quite a few other people who have bands like the Phantoms, Clock Opera, Sea of Bees etc at the top of their list when coming to the festival. So, Joshua, to say that people don't care is completely untrue.

Tintin, no, you were right - they did have these late-announcements booked months ago because the bands have had the festival announced on their Facebooks etc for ages - at least The Phantom Band has, and I have been on this forum badgering for info as to why there was no mention of them anywhere.  And even when the last lot of bands were announced it's hardly been a big thing - why should I have to be on a festival forum to find out if my favourite band is playing? It's unfair to us festival goers and the bands. 
It does seem to me that it's definitely bad organisation, rather than any kind of marketing ploy, because when I contacted The Phantom Band directly on Facebook a few weeks back, to ask if they were definitely playing, they seemed particularly uncertain themselves!
And, seeing as you can tell I'm a big fan, I agree old grouch that some of these bands should be way further up the bill (and announced properly!)

Looking at it with a half full glass for a second, your favourite band are pretty much opening the festival, and there are no other music clashes really, so the audience will be great. And I'll be in it with a silly hat and grin on.

Oh, Fiveuke, totally- I didn't mean to come across negatively. I'm still thrilled to see them and a whole heap of other great bands at a wonderful festival. See you there in your stupid hat. I'll be hopping around dressed completely inappropriately for a festival...

can't believe there's still bands to be announced. just noticed the last efestivals post says at the bottom that there's another announcement coming and obviously festival republic won't announce this weekend so we probably have to wait to monday. it must all be word level bands as well otherwise they wouldn've included them in the bulk sunrise/lake announcement the other day. COCOROSIE perhaps?

Yeah, I noticed that. Latitude poster: 'Many more to announce'. Either lazy (most likely) or we could have 5 or so more bands.

I really can't believe it's been left this late!

Bit annoyed that one dampener on the build up is we still don't have the full lineup and nobody can be bothered to tell us why. Real shame. So many channels of communication, but no answers. Presumably some of the bands, Braids notably, will be flying over soon and yet they're being totally blanked.

Yes, I got a line from them too. I know they're playing just can't understand why it's 2 1/2 days until the gates open and the lineup isn't finalised. Doesn't fill me with hope for things like gates opening on time, water being turned on 24hrs, security getting it right etc... Because it's all the same 'only had a year to realise it was on again' mistakes. Oh well. Beauty in chaos and all that again I suppose.

I'll just have to get drunk, watch some horrendous pop divas, the come back on here later and see if anyone has bothered to answer on the forum, Twitter, website, Facebook etc... I bet if there was a new flavour of Pepsi Being sold or a new service offering piggy-backs to the main stage for posh people, we'd know all about it. Right, where's my Grand Marnier, tonic and Beyonce DVD...
