Looking at the link Annie posted earlier there are very late buses into Southwold - which I know is no good for Lowestoft - but if there's a special festival bus service to Southwold there might be one to Lowestoft (although I'm feeling doubtful).

Certainly nothing else by Anglian buses, which is where those two timetables came from - not yet anyway and, given the difference in distance and (I would imagine) less likelyhood of customers, I'd doubt there would be...

But - the Anglian depots are in the Beccles area (I think - there's certainly one about a five minute walk from where I'm sat just now), so it's *just* possible that if someone spoke to them nicely that after the bus has done it's last run to Southwold that it would be heading up the A12 and might just be convinced to drop a couple of nice people off in Oulton Broad.  Worth the awfully postive pr for someone from FR to give them a call, shirley?
I loved the words you wrote to me
But that was bloody yesterday

    Prozak,

I was in your position last year travelling over from Ireland and I'd recommend staying on site in the tangerine fields. The money you're going to spend on B&Bs and transport should cover one of the pods or a ready made tent. The area they're in is separate to the main camping site and has its own showers, hot water etc facilities. We stayed in a myhab http://www.myhab.com// (don't appear to be here for this year :-() and really enjoyed it. We'd contemplated doing what you're planning and I can tell you I'm glad we didn't as I'd say we'd have gotten fed up travelling between the festival and Lowestoft.

We're coming back this year and will be staying on site again as it was great - very helpful and friendly staff and "neighbours" and a nice area to chill out in during the day, found it nice to get away from the action at times and have a little siesta to boost energy reserves for the late night partying :-)

For what it's worth and to give you something to think about this was our itinerary last year (we made a bit of a holiday out of it.)
Wed: morning flew to Stansted and then train from airport to Cambridge (only about 30 mins away) Stayed there for a night, relaxed, picked up some festival essentials in the shops and really enjoyed the city.
Thurs: evening train from Cambridge to Ipswich and then bus on to festival site
    Thurs - Sun night: Partyed.
Mon: Once we'd "checked out" of campsite we headed to Lowestoft for some recovery by the sea, stayed in a B&B and just chilled out.
Tues: Train to London for a night and then flew home on Wed.

      Dear All,

thanks for all the replies, you are really very helpful!

AJSRed: Your solution fit our needs almost perfectly, i did not know that there is separate "premium" camping site.
(which in fact is a great idea)
PodPads are far too expensive. but I`ve checked http://www.tangerinefields.co.uk and the price seems to be OK.
There is only one thing I have to check - is our tickets allow  us to enter the tangerine field.

We have separate tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday  (70,00 each), could we enter TangerineField with them?

      Thanks once again
      And see you on Latitude!

I'm going for Tangerine Fields, although the budget 2 man tent option. I didn't fancy lugging tents etc around, and all the setting up after a long travel (we are being green and bussing up with the National Express!). Mrs. Dave also loves the idea of better showers, toilets etc., which, as we get older we seem to rely on more and more. Plus, additional backpack room for beers, etc......

I'll see you in there, it should be great!

Cześć Prozak.  So, I've been checking, and the answer is, sorry, there are no buses from the festival to Lowestoft in the evening/night.  It is possible to get a bus to Southwold and change for a bus to Lowestoft, but the last bus from Southwold to Lowestoft is 16.38 (that's obviously too early for you, you would miss most of the festival!).

And your other question.  Unfortunately your Day Tickets do not allow you entry to any of the campsites (including the Tangerine Fields campsite).  If you do want to camp you need a Weekend Ticket (this is a ticket for all 4 days of the festival (Thursday-Sunday) plus it includes camping.  I suggest you could try to contact whoever you got your tickets from and see if they can help you (they might agree to you changing your tickets, but I can't confirm that at all).

Someone in this thread suggested that you take it in turns to drive to the festival each day (one drives, the other one drinks), this could be your best option, of course this isn't a perfect solution, but it's not too bad....... you'll still both be experiencing an amazing Latitude Festival!

I've heard from the original poster of this thread (well, I emailed him...), anyway I'm sure he won't mind me saying that he, and his girlfriend, said "it was probably the best holiday of our lives" and "the atmosphere was great, all the people we met were very friendly and helpful" and "the gigs and shows were awesome!".  Happy Latituders.  Yay to that!  I'm actually smiling now.

Incidentally, they took the general advice of the forum and stayed onsite (in the Tangerine Fields) rather than their original plan.  Thanks for everyone who chipped-in with ideas.
