Well I am pleased that Noone likes The Cabaret Tent.  That is one fan at least.  Of course I am a charlatan-I never considered myself anything else.

I really want British Sea Power there, I saw them support the Manics and they were brilliant!
Cage the Elephant, amazing band live, but i'm not sure whether they'd do Latitude. They're tricky really, too big for the Word, but too small to pull a big enough crowd for the Obelisk. Their 1st album was better in my opinion.
And as for Harp for Hangovers, I never really noticed them last year!

Harp for Hangovers played in the Faraway Forest last year apparently. Probably best that they stay there.

They're in Europe sooner than that Kate.  Much sooner.  I'm going to see them in Warsaw in a little over 2 weeks time!  I didn't see them at Latitude last year so I'm finally going to see what all the fuss is about.  Really looking foward to it. 

What I meant was that they will be in Europe then rather than say USA or Japan which would most likely rule them out.  They do seem to get about a bit.  Going to Warsaw is very keen though.  I hope you feel that they live up to the hype.  For me, it was just the underlying intensity of the live performance and complexity of the music. I look forward to hearing what you think.  Enjoy!!

I'm not as keen as you think though... I live in Warsaw... so going to see The National will just mean walking to the end of my road, hoping on the 190 bus to the metro, going 4 metro stops, then walking 2 mins to a club where I see a few bands now 'n' again (Belle & Sebastian and Patrick Wolf coming up next month!).

Oh yes, I should have noticed your location!  What's Warsaw like then? Presumably you work there?  Are you the Roger who was working at Latitude last year? This forum must be good for you to keep in touch from abroad with Latitude matters!

Warsaw is like..... chilly.  But at least the snow has all gone now, it was here until Friday but 2 days of rain and temps above freezing took care of that, in fact it was positively spring-like yesterday, we even went for a walk in the park (although I'm still expecting winter to really bite again soon, I'm sure it'll be -25 during the days next week, just like all winter last year!).  Generally Warsaw is..... impossibly cool and infinitely interesting (it probably also helps that my darling girlfriend lives here so there is no other place in the universe that I'd rather be).
 
Presuming that I work here in Poland would be a very good presumption, but actually I don't (well... a bit... sometimes), I mostly work in various muddy fields in England in the summer.  And yes, I have been known to work a bit at this here Suffolk-based festival.
 
And I only visited this forum to keep abreast of the Maddix-Grouchy-BeeRose love triangle.

Los Campesinos! are playing that 2000 Trees somewhere in England the same weekend as Latitude as well. Festival Republic really could pull out a stonker of a line-up this year if they wanted.

A charlatan I may be and indeed worse than this a charlatan posing as an inposter.  However, I recall back in 2010 pitching my tent on the Thursday at Latitude in a howling gale near the entrance where they issue the wristbands.  I awoke on the Friday to find that someone had placed a 6 berth tent in such close proximity that the guy ropes actually crossed the front of my tent.  A fish to rival the fabled leviathan had swum into my waters and I was not happy.  However, upon venting spleen with the owner of the said tent I found him to be a most lovely and kind man in his early sixties called Ralph with an almost uncanny aesthetic resemblance to the wonderful Richardson from Deadwood.  I spent many a happy hour over the following weekend chatting with Ralph and his wife Vera.  As Vera happened to be a lecturer in Sociology at Kent university  we discussed the merits of Zigmunt Bauman with the conclusion being of course that the man is a bigger fraud than me and as three people that had attended every Latitude we also chatted about how much we enjoyed the festival.  Indeed, Ralph eulogised at length about how he loved the beautiful location and stunning East Anglian light combined with an array of musical and artistic delights.  Ralph also told me he was a huge PJ Harvey fan who longed to see the lovely lady play at the festival.  So Mr Dunn please let us have Polly Jean grace us with her presence this year.  If not for Ralph then for Richardson.
