Just watched X-MEN on Film4 as I'd never seen any of those films before. Was pretty enjoyable tbh.

Didn't feel very well today so I decided to stay in and watch Withnail and I again, this has got to be on everyone's best film ever list, I love it so much.

my film of the weekend was 'MicMacs'...a fantastic (in every sense of the word) French film, made by the chap who directed Delicatessen and Amelie, (which i presume every one has seen) Jean-Pierre Jeunet...a visual feast, hilariously funny...laugh out loud funny...and deeply subversive...check it out
I'm so sick of Snow Patrol, and where to find Esso lubricant & mobile numbers.

You're the second person to mention that film recently (not sure who was the first, possibly the missus, I have a feeling she saw it at the cinema last week), so I really need to check it out, Delicatessen and Amelie are 2 of my favourite films, and IMDB describe it as 'Fellini on acid'. I'll have to look into getting the dvd because a cinema showing will be useless to me... French, subtitled in Polish... no use for a mono-lingual like me.

I pretty much hate Withnail and I. I'll say why later, if I remember to, unless someone else comes on and says much the same thing in the meantime.

Withnail and I is BRILLIANT (See what I did there, I combined my thoughts on the last film BeeRose watched, with a catchphrase from the last tv show BeeRose watched. I'm a genius).

withnail is one of the most over-rated films ever...dont get me wrong, i really like it...but it really is a film of best bits, and all the best bits are great...its just that they dont add up to a truly great film...bit like a really good action film, where the action is breath takingly amazing but the bests in-between are just so much...meh... it just dont add up
I'm so sick of Snow Patrol, and where to find Esso lubricant & mobile numbers.

Danny Brown is so good in W&I, he's great in Wayne's World 2 as well. The scene in the tearoom is one of my favourite ever.

Just rewatched This is England in preperation for the tv show starting tomorrow. Forgot just how good it is, up there with Meadows' finest really. Really hope the show doesn't tarnish the great work of the film.

Meadow's best films are Dead Man's Shoes and Romeo Brass. If you disagree, you probably have an ingrown toenail.

Dead Man's Shoes is obviously the winner, Paddy Considine is brilliant in Romeo Brass but I actually think This is England might be slightly better. TwentyFourSeven and Somer's Town are both great too. Not seen Le Donk and Scorsayzee yet, and have never bothered with Once Upon a Time in the Midlands.

I posted that with such conviction I had to do it twice, clearly. I haven't actually seen them all, but I didn't think much of Somer's Town
