I missed him once to watch Camera Obscura, Passion Pit and Spiritualized or something. 2/3rds of those were cack, pretty annoying.

Camera Obscura are a weird live band. Sometimes they are pretty dull and look like they want to be anywhere but onstage (Latitude 09) whereas other times they are bloody brilliant. Still a wonderful band though.

I recently saw Dinner for Schmucks. It were patchy at best. 5/10. I also recently saw Piranha 3D. Which, after the first half hour of drivel, was most entertaining!! 7.5/10. By the way, What is the general concensious on 3D? I was a hater. Untill i saw Piranha 3D. But i think that is also coz, most of the 2D movies i saw before is in 'RealD'. I saw Piranha in 'XpanD'. Which was much more sharper & clearer. :)

Micheal Cera heads into a meeting with his Spanish agent after another box office success in which he plays a well intentioned, but awkward youg man who inevitably gets the right girl in the end. "What can I do for you?", asks Santos, Micheal's Spanish agent. "Well," says Micheal to Santos. "I really appreciate all the work you're getting me, and my fees are going up, and young people seem to really connect with me, but I feel like I just keep making a variant on the same movie, in which I play the same character, again and again, and ultimately, I'm just worried that my goodwill will soon run out!" Santos takes a moment, looking into the worried eyes of his young client. He reclines on his neat office chair. "Que Cera, Cera, whatever will be, will be."

Yesterday, i saw The Town, directed by & starring Ben Affleck. It was slightly overlong, and not the most original of stories. But excecuted well. 7/10.

Just watched THE DEPARTED for the first time ever, despite having the dvd sat on my shelf for well over a year. It was good of course, and didn't really feel anywhere near its running time. Leo is wonderful but I think I've decided I'm not a huge fan of Matt Damon.

Arf! Yeah hoppo old son, that really is one GAY film. Entertaining though. Where to start? The films that stand up to countless repeat viewings in Lanegan Towers are: The Thin Red Line - BEST FILM IN THE WORLD EVER. And do not anyone dare argue that fact. Man Bites Dog. Event Horizon. Napolean Dynamite. Clockwork Orange. True Romance. Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer. Reservoir Dogs Platoon. Team America. Badlands. Natural Born Killers. Anchorman. In Bruges. The last film I saw at the flicks was that dream thing with Leonardo Whatsisface in it. It seemed ok, but I fell asleep so can't really say one way or another.

Tmrw (and maybe sunday) I will be going to the Gorezone Film Festival (a link : http://www.gorezone.co.uk/gzfilmfestival.html ). If you ignore the 'Boob clowns' promoting it, you get to see some good horror flicks.....honest. Exciting!!!

Ok, so yeaterday i saw 6 flicks. I saw Bloodnight : The Legend Of Mary Hatchett (which was VERY generic. But had enough cheap gore to entertain. 6/10.), Breath Of Hate (starring Jason Mewes. He was the most believable in a frankly mess of a story. 3/10), Air Terjun Pengantin (which looked like a made for TV waste of time. And the translation into english subtitles was laughable. 2/10), Hyneas (which, quite frankly, was utter tosh! And with CGI make on a ZX spectrum. But the dialogue & plot was SO terrible....that it kinda went full circle. And was funny. 5/10), The Violent Kind (Which was the best movie of the day. Odd plot, VERY gory, well acted & shot. 8.5/10) and Pearlblossom (A lesbian vampire movie. But not as cheesy & 'naked' as you would expect. Not exactly....good. But does feature Mickey from Seinfeld. And Lt Bill Boyce from Silence of the Lambs. AND Warren Peters from Bostol Legal. 6/10). So....there you go.

I have just watched 'The Secret in Their Eyes' at IFT. Not bad although not as good as 'A Prophet' which it pipped to win the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar. However, it was memorable for one stunning shot where the camera comes down to join a crowd at a football match...hmm, best watch the film to get the jist on this one.

At the weekend, i saw 2 movies. I saw Wall Street : Money Never Sleeps and The Other Guys. The former was so bloody frustrating!! It's couldve been SO good. And Michael Douglas (despite looking like he's 187 years old) was brilliant. But it was slightly overlong. And watching Shia LaBeouf is like watching a glass of air. He has no presence on screen at all. The latter is, apparently, the movie that Kevin Smith's Cop Out was originally gonna be. It was better than Cop Out.....damning it with faint praise. It had a few funny lines (all the TLC references i found quite amusing. I was the only one laughing though...), but was generally disjointed and weak.

Watched Fanboys and The Human Centipede last night.. Fanboys was fun and quite sweet, but a little too heavy on the star wars references (I'm aware this is the main point of the film, but it was literally every line) Enjoyed having a bit of bro-down geek out time though The Human Centipede was an absolute hoot, all over the top and clichéd and all the better for it. I just LOVE a bit of mouth stitched to arsehole fun, and the surgeon bloke is the freakiest mo-fackkka everz

In the past week I have watched A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, Looking for Eric and Harry Brown. The first two were GREAT and I'll be checking out The Good The Bad and The Ugly soon, as well as more spaghettie westerns. Clint was well sexy back in the day too. Looking for Eric was decent but I think I expected a bit more from it. Harry Brown was good and Caine was excellent but I was a bit disturbed by the dodgy moral to the story and the underlying right wing message. Still a decent film though.
