Oh yeah, of course. What a spastic. Who is Giddy then? This is embarassing as it about the 4th time that I have got Giddy in a CD Swap.

You're right, it's me. My past CDs have left you cold. I expect this one will too.

I listened to Thomas's CD on the way to my ladyfriend's Roller derby practice. In her car. Bearing in mind my missus does not like almost any 'electronic' music (or, as she puts it, "any of that dance-y rubbish"). Its started ok (Baader Meinhof is someone i will now check out), but it quickly decended into dull 'grime' ****y. 2/10. Thanks, though. And its nothing personal. :)

Why does the word grime have quote marks around it??

People are going to really hate my effort (though it won't be much like Thomas's).

grouchland Why does the word grime have quote marks around it?? Because he seems to be using it to cover Alizee, !!!, Saint Etienne, Cassie, The Juan Maclean, Luke Haines as well as some stuff that could arguably be referred to as grime?

Old people, eh? Mine will probably go out Second Class tomorrow, so you should all get them before the weekend. Fun stuff.

If you were the type of person who enjoys endless arguments about which microgenre a particular song falls under, I reckon you could argue that none of the songs on my CD were actually grime. I wouldn't touch that debate with a Dizzee Rascal branded bargepole, but I've seen people who would. I was quite aware that the second half of the CD would probably not be to everyone's taste but I thought it might be interesting/'a bit different'. I'd rather get 2 or 3/10 than 6/10 so everyone is ok. And I look forward to receiving further listening from you all soon.

I've just received Thomas' CD today. Many thanks, Thomas. I'll peruse it soon, but hope to discover more of the Country Teasers' ilk than that of that boring French football team's.

I put quote marks around 'grime' coz, as im SURE your aware, being a non NME reading, non Radio ONE EFF EMM listening 34 year old, i wasnt too sure wether you could consider the stuff at the end of the CD as grime (which, i reckon, is a bullsh*t term. Surely, its all just another form of two step, but with dirty bass?!?). That is all. And, as was with Wiley & Zinc & Cassie, most grime leaves me feeling cold....If it were the Ms Dynamite 'choon' with Redlight....that wouldve been awesome!

Well that makes some sense, but you said after Baader Meinhoff it "quickly decended into dull 'grime' ****y" when really it took ages to do that.

Nico Rijnders Well that makes some sense, but you said after Baader Meinhoff it "quickly decended into dull 'grime' ****y" when really it took ages to do that. This is gonna now sound unbelievably cruel to Thomas. Im sorry. NICO MADE ME DO THIS!!!!! I obviously said that, after Baader Meinhoff, it quickly decended into grime wa*kery because the Momus/Alizee/awful brass band cover of KLF/Niki & Dove etc made no impression on me whatsoever. The !!! track only made an impression because, up to the usual high !!! standard, it was poor. And St etienne to me sounds like the sound the colour beige would make. So...there you go.

You don't get that at the Brits any more. I bet Annie was there, gorging on champagne and canapes. And Moz my love, don't worry about it. I've been told worse. Every day of my life. Hoppo will like this: I was driving home from work this afternoon and my friend said to me "Do you only ever listen to The Fall now?" (I was listening to The Fall in the car)

Do you only ever listen to The Fall now?" (I was listening to The Fall in the car) WELCOME...TO MY WORLD...they do actually sound like the only logical thing to listen to while driving through greater manchester...or at least the only place the lyrics make total sense... dear thomas, what fall were you listening to
