Shade 27 July 2010 15:09 (permalink)
How about fitting the tables in the arena with sun umbrellas like pub gardens often have.  It was very difficult to find a bit of shade in the arena in order to get some respite from the full sun.

Any chance?

Lol, you're in a field full of tents.

    Bloody hell.

a tactical rub with the tips of the fingers just below the balls usually eradicates shaking of the tent, and makes for a very interesting fap

What are you talking about?  I knew some bozo would give some stupid comment.  You've got tons of tables there for people to sit and eat at in full sun with no shade at all.  Surely it's not a stupid idea to think that maybe they could make some shade so that we could eat and drink a cider without boiling to death.

I don't eat in the tents while watching acts.  Most don't thank goodness.

There are plenty of trees giving shade.

Were there tables under trees.. b ugger then because I didn't see them.  I couldn't sit on the ground all the time, too peculiarly built to do that all day and was desperate to sit on a seat to eat.

I don't remember that many trees within the arena at least not where all the food stalls are.

I don't wanna state the bleeding obvious (but I'm sure you can tell that I'm about to!), I suggest a hat for starters, matched with a deep layer of sun-cream.  See how practical I am?!

... or... hang-out in the 'In The Woods' area all weekend long! (I have heard it described as "the best part of any festival")

as you walk over the bridge and turn left there is a line of food stalls that back onto the lake and the left hand tree in my image is about 20/30 feet from the nearest food stall - sure it was more busy last year but these are mature trees that have been there for years.
