forgot this question earlier, and was prompted (thanks thomc) by the query above about the now show.
 
how do you feel about the festival restrictions starting to occur in respect of *corporate partners*? i'm thinking particularly about the times and absolute radio - previously you had the guardian and a lot of bbc 6music support and access which added great coverage and also added to the event (imho).
 
are the corporate partners, and their effective artistic restrictions, worth the cash gain?

sort of assumed that a huge amount of effort goes into this, and no little thought, but it is extremely reassuring to see this in the responses.

Somehow I have managed to delete a whole question and Tania's answer.  Apologies to the author, here is the question and answer:

How do you go about persuading people to do something a little different to what they're used to at Latitude. For example, Frank Skinner in literary. Or is it simply a case of they have a book to sell at the time so would prefer to be doing that than their usual vocation?
Tania's answer: Both. I talk to a lot of artists and many artists are excited to do something out of their normal remit and to show a different creative side. To be honest, that’s the whole essence of the Film and Music Arena and also why its last to be announced as it takes ages to book and persuade the right people. I spend days researching artists likes and dislikes and try to find an angle that would appeal to them creatively or failing that stalking is always worth a shot.
